PS Plus Essential, Extra or Premium/Deluxe: which plan to choose

2026-11-03 · Guides

Short answer: Essential is what you need if you play online. Extra is worth it if you'll finish at least 2–3 catalog games in a year. Deluxe (called Premium in the US) only makes sense if you want PS1, PS2 and PSP classics and game trials. A 12-month subscription is the best value: on a Turkish account, an annual Essential comes to 241 TL per month, compared with 400 TL when paying monthly.

Sony raised prices in Turkey on May 20, 2026. Prices as of October 2026:

Per month, an annual subscription comes to 241 TL for Essential, 401 TL for Extra and 463 TL for Deluxe. That's 1.5 to 1.7 times cheaper than paying monthly.

Which plan pays off

1. Only play single-player games and never go online? You don't need a subscription. Buy games individually during sales.

2. Play online (EA Sports FC, Call of Duty, GTA Online and other games with paid online play)? You need at least Essential.

3. Want to finish 2–3 catalog games in a year? Get Extra. Compare the price difference from Essential with the price of the catalog games you actually want to play.

4. Get Deluxe only if you're sure you'll play the classics or try new releases. For most players, the difference from Extra doesn't pay off.

Before buying Extra, open the Game Catalog list in your region's PS Store, because the lineup can differ between countries.

How to upgrade or downgrade

If the account with the subscription is activated on your console (Settings → Users and Accounts → Other → Console Sharing and Offline Play), some subscription benefits and catalog games also work from other profiles on that PS5.

You can get PS Plus on your own account or through Game Sharing in our PS Plus section, paying with USDT.

FAQ

Do I keep the games when my subscription ends? Catalog and monthly games stop launching, but they come back if you renew. Your saves stay.

Do I need PS Plus for free-to-play games like Fortnite? No. Free-to-play games work online without a subscription.

Can I move a subscription to another account? No. A subscription is tied to the account it was bought on and can't be transferred between regions.
